After having our Good Gate™ offering out in the world for numerous years, we started getting requests to offer a similar product that could be used for the landing side of an elevator in conjunction with the car gate.
We took some time to understand the issues that elevator OEM's, dealers and installers were having with existing sliding door sets from competitors and then went about fixing those issues to ensure that we designed a product that would be purpose built for North American Residential Elevators.
The result was the SlideX Residential Elevator Sliding Door Package.

We offer a variety of heights, up to 96in, with the standard door clear opening being 36in wide. We can also accommodate wider openings for accessibility needs.
Issues with Existing Products
- They were designed for commercial use not residential
- Overhead height is 18+ inches and this can cause issues in many residential applications
- Few options for finishes - typically painted steel and stainless steel only
- Heavy – weight on the car side consumes lift capacity of an elevator and makes cab re-enforcement more expensive
- Difficult to install due to weight
- Large pocketing dimension for 2 panel options (19in+)
- 3 panel options consume large amount of shaft space
- Most commonly used option for North America is made in Italy and they are not supportive of market needs in this region
- Ability to accommodate shafts that are not plumb is limited and this causes significant delays in job completion

How we are able to do this is a direct result of the way we have arranged the upper support system for the sliding panels.
This is a unique design and a very compact arrangement for a multi-panel gate arrangement while still maintaining a rigid structure.
